Memorial Vision and Statement
Mission Statement

To commemorate the life and work of  the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and other patriots who served in the Wars of Independence by leading a collaborative funding, design, and construction process in the creation of a memorial to honor their national and international contributions to world peace.

The Benjamin Harrison Society is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the public in the history, significance and enduring legacy of the American Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, both Wars of Independence.  The Benjamin Harrison Society (BHS) with the support of the National Friends & Society of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail Commission (W3RNHT), and the War of 1812 Bicentennial Commissions, has asked Congresswoman Eleanor Horton-Norton (D. DC) to introduce legislation “To authorize the Benjamin Harrison Society to raise public funding to construct the National Patriot Memorial in Washington, D.C.  BHS also has the support of other patriot organizations who are preparing for the upcoming Bicentennial (200 years) celebrations of the War of 1812 beginning in 2012.

Vision Statement

The National Patriot Memorial (NPM) will be the first memorial to honor patriots who served in the Wars of Independence—the American Revolutionary War, the War of 1812 and our allies enduring legacies at the National  and International levels. The memorial will display its distinguished collection of objects, artifacts, and manuscripts from the Wars of Independence---American Revolution era, and the War of 1812.  The NPM will offer programming, lectures, symposia, and interactive learning for teachers, students, and the general public.
