Please co-sponsor Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton's H.R. 1559 legislation--- the Patriot Memorial  Center Act, that will honor patriots who faught in the American Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.  Currently, this bill is in the House Committee on Natural Resources.  Co-sponsors may be added to the legislation while in committee.  The legislation needs 290 House co-sponsors and 67 Senate co-sponsors before it will come for a vote.  Please contact Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton office to become a co-sponsor of this important legislation.

This legislation is budget neutral and will not cost the taxpayer anything.  This memorial seeks to help all Americans remember, and by remembering, this memorial will stimulate a dialogue about patriots who faught for the American Wars of Independence, host an interesting collection of war-related items ranging from vintage weapons, uniforms, paintings and historical maps.  The memorial will enhance the public's understanding of the meanings and endururing legacy of the American Revolution, the War of 1812 and to protect historical resources associated with both Wars of Independence.
