ABOUT US
The Benjamin Harrison Society (BHS) is a nonprofit 501 C (3) nonprofit organization. BHS was established in 1934 as a nonprofit operating organization to teach students about history, historical preservation and conservation. In 1995 BHS joined with several government agencies and other organizations to promote effective mathematics, geography, science, and technology for students and to enhance the abilities of capable STEM teachers in K-12 schools worldwide. through its GEARS, DOTS and I DIG History programs.
The program offers hands on geography, engineering, archaeology, reading, and science activities for students through our Fieldwork School Project called " DOTS and I DIG History. " The BHS program features working professionals who captivate students with accounts of life in science mathematics, technology, geography, and history. BHS students are prepared in how to build their own careers and/or college majors---respond to a glimpse of the "real world". Since 1995, BHS has been documenting, disseminating, and developing lesson plans for public and private schools and to protect cultural resources through its historical preservation, conservation and restoration program.

OUR VISION AND MISSION
The Benjamin Harrison Society mission is to educate and excite learners about cultural resources, geography, mathematics, sciences, engineering and technology. Our mission also promotes geographic literacy and geospatial information technologies (GIS) for students to ensure geography education. The Society is dedicated to presenting exhibitions and public programs, and fostering research that reveal the dynamism of history, its preservation and influence on the world of today The Society engages a broad range of people in American history through initiatives which enliven and illuminate the past and future.
1) Teach student’s geography geospatial information technologies which use local, place based contexts. 2) Teach students to conduct geographic and scientific research through real world experiences. 3) Strengthen schools and local communities by providing a resource that encourages networking and capacity-building. 4) Promotes quality science teaching, enhance teacher confidence and classroom excellence, and improve teacher content.
5) Promotes preservation, conservation and restoration of historical buildings and monuments, knowledge by providing professional development and mentoring support to early-career science, social studies and geography teachers.
